Managing Stress and Anxiety
First day of school, new school, new class, new teacher .... these can all create apprehension no matter what type of personality.
Clinical trials have shown essential oils to successfully reduce stress and anxiety. If you are a Do It Yourselfer, here are a few recipes to help calm the jitters, help with focus and relax at the end of the day.

If you prefer something all ready to go, KidPower is great (young or old) for providing that extra boost of confidence and GeneYus for helping to stay calm and focused to get the project done.  There is a complete set of "prediluted" oils including one for sleep, owies, sniffles and those digestive issues that pop-up.

One of the best things a college student (or adult student) can do is to educate themselves about taking responsibility for their health. Between exams, class requirements and their social life .... personal health and wellness may get put on the back burner until an illness requires attention.  Essential Oils can make a positive difference in this process, supporting your body systems, focus, and emotions. Studies have shown that essential oils are effective at reducing air-borne bacteria.

College is a new environment with new people, new classrooms, dorms, roommates, shared bathrooms and .... new "germs".

Keep Your Immune System Strong

Thieves oil blend can be used daily to keep your immune system strong. Rub it on your feet morning and night, or rub it on your hands and inhale.  Add a drop or two to diffuser necklace and wear all day long.

If you are already fighting something, you can use it to support recovery. Rub Thieves oil blend or apply Thieves Chest Rub on your throat or chest for respiratory support. You can rub Thieves oil blend on your body to support improved wellness--around your ears (never put oils directly in ears or eyes) or on your neck or temples.

Make a tea adding 1 drop each of  Thieves Vitality, Lemon Vitality and Peppermint Vitality to a cup of warm water or your favorite tea.  Sweeten with honey as desired and sip throughout the day.

Thieves Waterless Hand Sanitizer is your BFF when you don't have access to soap and watr. Keeping your hands clean is one of the most important ways to stay healthy.

**Thieves can be a hot oil for some when used topically .... always dilute with coconut, olive or other carrier oil or test on a small area of skin first.

Diffusing Thieves will help create an environment to support your immune system.  This diffuser is the perfect size for a dorm room or bedroom

Keep Your Digestive System Strong

Digestive Systems do not always respond well to new environments and stressful schedules that may cause meals to be skipped, or choosing comfort foods over healthy choices because tiredness as set in or the mood is down.  And, if that is not enough, enter the "Freshman 15"!!

When your digestion is off, the rest of you can be affected as well .... decreased focus, inability to sleep, increased stress levels, stressed immune system. It is always best to try to not "overschedule" allowing enough time for "self".  Of course, this is always easier said than done.  So, when things do get out of hand, Digize Vitality is the "go-to" for easing any digestive discomfort.  Made with essential oils from plants long associated with digestive support, DiGize Vitality is a great complement to any meal, so you can enjoy the food you eat and the people you dine with! DiGize Vitality includes oil from fennel seeds—which some cultures munch on after meals—as well as Ginger, Peppermint, and other powerful oils.

When poor eating and lack of sleep and too much partying bring you to that state of sluggishness, Lemon and Peppermint can help. Lemon will support detox in your body.(Add one drop to a glass [not plastic] container and then continue to flush the system by drinking plain water.)

Peppermint will energize you and help you feel more awake when you feel like you’d rather take a nap.

Lemon and Peppermint can also support focus when you are having a hard time paying attention.

A university in Japan experimented with diffusing different essential oils in the office. When they diffused lemon there were 54% fewer errors and with lavender there were 20% fewer errors. When essential oils are diffused while studying and smelled during a test, test scores may increase by as much as 50%. Different essential oils should be used for different tests, but the same essential oil should be used during the test as was used while studying for that particular test. The smell of the essential oil may help bring back the memory of what was studied"

Even the most efficient of planners will still have their fair share of being overburdened with too much work and too little time.

Stress Away is a blend, which means it has many different oils that combine to bring you stress relief.

Copaiba, which is used for muscle aches, stiffness, and nervous exhaustion. It is also very effective when dealing with overwhelm. Lime, which is stimulating and refreshing. Cedarwood, which is calming. Ocotea, which helps balance emotions, and Lavender, relaxes and promotes a feeling of well-being.

Apply Stress Away to your wrists, temples, neck or any other body part. Stress Away can bring a sense of calmness to the most stressful of situations, which will help you think and more clearly about how to accomplish the tasks ahead. Pop a roller top on your bottle and keep it in your backpack for moments of overwhelm.

Sometimes we need a dose of courage. It's all about confidence. And Valor is designed to to instill feelings of courage and confidence before going into battle. Whether your battle is an unexpected test, a hard conversation with parents, a critical interview, or just facing the day, Valor will support you.

Apply to back of neck, hands, and/or wrists and breathe in assurance.

When you have had a busy or stressful day, diffuse Peace & Calming to settle your mind. Whether you are ready to sleep for the night or just regrouping before study or recreation, this blend of Blue Tansy, Orange, Tangerine, Patchouli, and Ylang Ylang will create a moment of tranquility in your everyday life.

Even when you try to get enough sleepsometimes you can’t. Sleep patterns in college are always fluctuating. Change in sleep pattern is not healthy or ideal, but is often a reality. Many students may experience an inability to sleep which is directly caused by stress. And you won’t probably test well if you are exhausted.

Rub 2 drops of Lavender on the bottom of your feet before bed to help you have a more restful, peaceful sleep. Or, add a few drops to your diffuser to run while you sleep. The aroma is so pleasant and calming that it is likely to help all your roommates get a better night’s sleep.

Lavender is also helpful for nervous tension and concentration.
